ACTOS (Pioglitazone) RECALL ISSUED IN FRANCE
DUE TO BLADDER CANCER RISK

The Law Office of Derriel C. McCorvey, LLC is reviewing cases for Actos bladder cancer and/or complications from taking Actos claims.

To have your Actos claim reviewed for free, call 1-888-291-2431.

Actos (pioglitazone) is a medication manufactured and sold by Takeda Pharmaceuticals for treatment of Type 2 diabetes. The drug is part of the same class of medications as Avandia (rosiglitazone), which has been linked to an increased risk of heart problems. As a result of concerns about Avandia side effects, sales of Actos have grown substantially in recent years.

New research suggests that users of Actos may face an increased risk of bladder cancer. The potential risk of Actos cancer problems is now being reviewed by health regulators in the United States and other countries throughout the world.

It appears that the manufacturer may have placed their desire for profits ahead of patient safety by failing to adequately warn about the potential risk of bladder cancer. As a result, consumers diagnosed with bladder cancer may be able to obtain compensation through an Actos lawsuit.

Studies have suggested that side effects of Actos may cause users to face an increased risk of cancer the longer the medication is taken. In fact, an Actos recall was issued in France due to bladder cancer risk.

As a result of the manufacturer's failure to adequately research the risk of bladder cancer from Actos or warn about the potential problems, compensation may be available through an Actos lawsuit for individuals diagnosed with a cancerous bladder tumor or with complications associated with taking Actos.

Some experts believe that an Actos recall should be issued or that new warnings about the risk of bladder cancer from Actos should be added to the medication in the US.

Possible signs or symptoms of Actos bladder cancer  or complications may include:

  • Blood in the Urine
  • Pain During Urination
  • Frequent Urination
  • Feeling of Need to Urinate Without Results

Although it appears that information about the risk of Actos cancer and/or complications has been known to the manufacturer for some time, inadequate warnings were provided to consumers and the medical community.

To have a Actos claim reviewed for free, call us at 1-888-291-2431. All cases are pursued under a contingency fee agreement, which means that there are no fees or expenses unless a recovery is received on your behalf.
